Father's Day

Today I invited my family over for a Father's Day Brunch. I made a breakfast casserole (go ahead and ohhh and ahhh!), cinnamon rolls, juice, and mom made her yummy orange and banana dish. We had a fun time laughing and talking about silly things. (right mom?)
It was great to be able to have my dad over to let him know how special he is to me! So as I post this blog and think about my dad on this day here are a few things I came up with...
My dad is...
-the funniest person I know
- able to fix anything (even my door on HIS special day)
- a good husband
- a good pop!
- the best dad a girl could have!
So on this day I say THANKS for being who you are!

Poolside with Melissa & Hayden

On Thursday, Melissa and Hayden came up to do a little sunbathing and swimming. Once again, Hayden amazed me with his gentle and charming demeanor! He is such a sweet little thing and makes me laugh! I am thankful for the summer time that I have to spend with my friends. Just hanging out, talking, and laughing about silly things is something that is really special to me! Thanks for a fun day!

Ah yes! Summer days are here again. I spend a vast majority of my summer lazily lounging around the pool. I find it so relaxing to lay there and just let all the stress of my past 180 days fly away with the warm summer breeze. There is something intoxicating about the smell of Hawaiian Tropic and chlorine! There are so many interesting people to watch (and I do mean interesting) and it's fun to just chuckle to myself. Lots of times I have poolside friends who come and soak up the rays with me. Melissa and Hayden as well as Kori spend many a day alongside me as well. It's great to have teacher friends who also get to be lazy all summer with me. I will be starting summer school soon, but I only teach until around 12. Which means, of course, that the best sunning hours will STILL be mine to enjoy!

Play Ball!

I just got home from my nephew's baseball game. Both Michael and Casey played tonight and they are both always fun to watch.
However, it was Michael's baseball game that was a bit out of the ordinary. I sat on the sidelines and watched him hit THREE home runs tonight. I was a crazed cheering fan each time. He got up each time and I thought "OK kid, calm down. Don't get cocky!" Each time he walked up to the plate, knocked it out of the park, and made it look completely effortless! It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience for him and I was sooooo proud of him! He definitely gets NO sporting ability from his Aunt Lisa. Good job kid!

A Day with Melissa and Hayden

I spent the afternoon on Thursday with Melissa and Hayden. It is always such a joy to spend time with these two. Seeing Melissa as SUPER MOM is so exciting. She is ultra trendy and her little guy is the sweetest thing you have ever seen. She totes around this litle man while at the same time sporting a trendy bag and a chic outfit! It makes me hopeful that motherhood does not mean the end of your individual style. Hayden has such a great personality and is really growing into a well mannered little boy. He enjoyed chasing my cat around the apartment, and thankfully the cat liked him as well. Excited that we are both off for the summer so we can go poolside. (Melissa get that cabana on order!)
